Bad Rock Haiku #29: Metric

2005.11.01, at the Crocodile

How do you hide it
Under such sultry music,
That robot heartbeat?

Bad Rock Haiku #28: "All-Star Tribute to The Who"

2005.10.28, assorted local rock stars at the Sunset

We're lit by encore,
Dud bombs fused with guitar wires,
Remembering when.

Bad Rock Haiku #27: Bats of Belfry, Band of Horses, and Okkervil River

2005.10.28, at the Crocodile

That second show curse
Struck again.  Take Ballard's Who
As medicine men.

Bad Rock Haiku #26: Concentus Musicus Wien

2005.10.15, performing a German opera by Antonio Salieri at the Musikverein in Vienna

To champion this
Two hundred year old music,
Pray to white, cold God.

2005.10.08, at Neumo's

Do not, even now.
(Drum and fiddle's rugged twine.)
Do not sing at all.

Bad Rock Haiku #24: The Frames

2005.10.04, at the Showbox

If the light goes down
And what's right goes right, the sound
And the light goes round.

Bad Rock Haiku #23: Fiery Furnaces

2005.10.03, at Neumo's

Fetching Eleanor,
Warbling the endless song
Using a cheat sheet.

Double-Booked December

Iansmap

I'm in the unfortunate predicament of having to decide between attending the wedding of a good friend (in the Caribbean, no less) or playing an already-booked show in San Francisco with Starlet.  Ian kindly passed along a visual aid.

Negative Fridays via OSX

ScreenshotToday I stumbled across a tip that hitting ctrl-option-apple-8 flips OSX into an inverted mode where the entire screen is a negative image of itself.  People turn blue!  Shadows become backlights!  It's like driving your own tacky, souped-up, underlit Honda all over the internet.

For me, all Fridays from here on out are Negative Fridays.
